Two Arrested in Wildwood on Drug Charges; Heroin and Cocaine Seized

WILDWOOD- The Wildwood Police Department Detective Division along with the Cape May County Prosecutors Office Guns Gangs Narcotics Task Force and the Middle Township Special Services Unit, concluded a one month investigation in connection to the sales and distribution of narcotics from 235 East Garfield Avenue Unit 121 located in the City of Wildwood on Sept. 17.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on Sept. 17, the Cape May County SWAT Team along with the Cape May County Sheriffs Department Canine Unit, executed a court authorized search warrant targeting unit 412 of the multi-family rooming house, in connection to active narcotics sales.
As a result of the execution of the search warrant, distribution quantities of heroin and crack cocaine were recovered. The controlled dangerous substances were prepackaged for street level sales. Also seized in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics was U.S. currency, narcotics paraphernalia specifically packaging materials, homemade smoking pipes, hypodermic syringes and a digital scale. As a result of the investigation, Elvin Copson, 45, unemployed, white male, currently residing at 235 East Garfield Avenue unit 12 in Wildwood and Amberly Burgess-Serverio, 20, unemployed, white female currently residing at 1616 Wheaton Avenue in Millville, were arrested in connection to the narcotics investigation.
Accordingly, Copson and Burgess-Severio were charged with the following criminal offenses:
-Possession of heroin (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of heroin with the intent to distribute (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of heroin with the intent to distribute within 500′ of of certain public property (crime of the second degree)
-Possession of cocaine (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute within 500′ of of certain public property (crime of the second degree)
-Possession of clonazeparn (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of buprenorphine (crime of the third degree)
-Possession of hypodermic syringes (disorderly persons offense)
-Possession of narcotics paraphernalia (disorderly persons offense)
The Honorable Dorothy Garrabrant , Jugde of the Wildwood Municipal Court set bail in the amount of $150,000, no 10 percent on Copson and Burgess-Serverio. Copson and Burgess-Serverio were unable to post the required bail and were incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
