WILDWOOD – A 23-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman were arrested and charged with multiple drug-related charges after police concluded a two-week investigation concerning the sale of narcotics from a home on the 100 block of West Roberts Avenue.
The investigation was conducted by detectives from the city’s police department along with members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
At approximately 9:35 p.m. on Nov. 15, the Cape May County SWAT team, in conjunction with the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 125 West Roberts Ave.
As a result of the search warrant, distribution quantities of heroin were recovered. It was pre-packaged for street-level sales, stated police. Police also seized over $6,000 as proceeds of the drug sales from the residence.
Manuel Serrano-Caban, 23, and Keysla Atiles-Narvaez, 20, both unemployed, were arrested on the scene and were identified as the registered tenants of the property.
Both Serrano-Caban and Atiles-Narvaez were charged with possession of heroin under one-half ounce; possession of heroin with intent to distribute; possession of heroin with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of school property; and endangering the welfare of a child.
A criminal charge is pending against the owner of the property for maintaining a nuisance property/disorderly premise.
Serrano-Caban and Atiles-Narvaez are both being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $75,000 bail each.
