Two Arrested in Wake of Three-Month Drug Investigation

COURT HOUSE — County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Chief Edward Donohue of the Lower Township Police Department on Thur., July 1announced the conclusion of a three-month long narcotics investigation involving the Lower Township Police Department and the Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force.
On June 30,members of the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team; Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office; Lower Township Police Department and Cape May County Sheriffs K-9 Unit, executed court authorized search warrants at 33 E. Weber Ave., Villas, and on a 2003 Kia Sedona.
As a result, the following were seized:
• Under a half ounce of heroin
• Under 50 grams of marijuana
• Drug paraphernalia to include weighing and packaging materials
• $1,100 in US currency
Kevin L. Hall, 25, residing in the unit block of East Weber Avenue, Villas, was charged with possession of under a half ounce of heroin, possession with the intent to distribute heroin, both crimes of the third degree, along with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both disorderly persons offenses.
Hall also had an outstanding warrant in the amount of $732 issued by Cumberland County for failure to pay child support. Hall was lodged in county jail in lieu of $25,000 full cash bail.
Nikole Morales, 22, residing at unit block of East Weber Avenue, Villas, was charged with possession of under a half ounce of heroin, possession with the intent to distribute heroin, both crimes of the third degree, along with possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both disorderly persons offenses. Morales was released in his own recognizance.
Persons convicted of third degree crimes may be sentenced between three and five years in the New Jersey State Prison. Disorderly Persons offenses carry a sentence of up to six-months in the county jail.
Taylor and Donohue, in a release, commended “the exceptional work of the Task Force, the Lower Township Police Department, and all of the cooperating agencies involved in this investigation, Prosecutor Taylor stated the Task Force will continue to target individuals in-volved in drug distribution in Cape May County along with the seizure of their assets.”
