Troopers Cuff Six in Old Landfill Fracas

WOODBINE — State Police troopers arrested six persons in connection with an incident at the old municipal landfill on Sept. 24.
According to a release, troopers from Woodbine Station were sent to a report of shots fired at the old Woodbine landfill.
When they arrived, an unknown Ford pick-up truck was found to be engulfed in flames. Several individuals were seen leaving the area in numerous vehicles.
Woodbine Fire Department responded and extinguished the blaze without incident.
The troopers were able to secure the perimeter of the landfill and apprehended six subjects.
On further investigation, they found a Remington 870 shotgun.
Arrested and charged with criminal trespassing were: Ian R. Unkle of Eldora, Jack D. O’Brien II of Port Norris, Gary J. McGhee Jr. of Egg Harbor Township, Crystal L. Hare of Tuckerton and Gary M. Ploe of Petersburg.
John J. Grandizio of Dennisville was charged with arson, criminal trespass, unlawful possession of a weapon (shotgun), and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The New Jersey State Police Arson Unit assisted in the investigation.
