Trespassing Call Leads to Arrests for Burglary and Drug Possession

VILLAS – Lower Township Patrol Officers responded to the 300 Block of Cedardale Avenue in the Villas section of Lower Township for a report of trespassers in a residence Feb. 6 at approximately 1:47 p.m.
The suspected trespassers fled the scene as police arrived. Detectives were also called out to process the scene. It appeared that several subjects were currently staying in the residence. While on scene, detectives and patrol officers located a 22-year-old female and a 43-year-old male nearby, who were two of the subjects that fled as police arrived. The investigation revealed four other subjects were also staying in the residence as well. They were not located at that time.
The two subjects that were located were both arrested and transported to the Lower Township Police Department for processing. Both the male and female were placed on warrants issued by Judge Thomas Hillegass and charged with one count third degree burglary. Bail was set at full $20,000. Both subjects were lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
Additionally, the male subject was found to be in possession of 15 bags of suspected heroin and was subsequently charged with possession of heroin, a third degree crime.
Warrants have also been issued for four other suspects. They have not been arrested as of Feb. 11. Those subjects are also being charged with burglary, a third degree crime.
