VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department received a report of a male subject in the area of Arizona Avenue in Villas holding a handgun in the street and pointing it in the direction of several houses March 10 at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Prior to arrival, information was received that the male subject was passing the handgun back and forth between a male and a female subject, who were standing on the front porch of a house in the 100 block Arizona Avenue.
Upon police arrival, the house was surrounded and after several minutes, contact was made with the occupants. One adult male and three juveniles were ordered out of the residence. Once secured, officers checked the inside of the residence and during the search, two firearms were recovered. The adult male was released after it was determined he was not involved and the three juveniles were arrested and transported to Lower Township Police Department for processing.
One juvenile male was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a minor, four degree, unlawful possession of a weapon, third degree, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, second degree, and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm in the direction of another, fourth degree. The juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention center.
The other male and female delinquents were both charged with possession of a firearm by a minor, fourth degree, and unlawful possession of a weapon, third degree. Both juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.
There were no injuries related to this investigation, which was conducted by the Patrol and Detective Divisions within the Lower Township Police Department.
