OCEAN CITY — Three West Grove, Pa. teens were arrested July 1 at 12:52 a.m., and charged with various drug possession and burglary counts.
According to a release, Patrolman William Lick was on patrol in the vicinity of 21st and Wesley Avenue when h e observed two males acting suspiciously around parked vehicles. He was aware that there had been several recently reported car burglaries in the city, and approached the pair to inquire about their actions there.
The initial investigation revealed that one of them was in possession of an allegedly stolen bicycle from the 1700 block of Wesley Avenue. On further investigation, it was learned that they subjects were also in possession of other stolen items.
Those items came from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Bay Avenue.
When police interviewed the subjects, they were given the identity of a third male that was also involved with the thefts.
Once that subject was found, a search was conducted of the suspect’s vehicle. Inside it officers located a Garmin GPS unit.
Investigation of that GPS unit, with assistance from Pennsylvania State Police, established that it had been stolen from a vehicle in London Township, Pa.,
The suspects were also found to be in possession of suspected marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They were charged with possession of marijuana, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy, and released to their parents’ custody.
