Three Face Narcotics Charges in Wake of Citizens’ Tips

WILDWOOD – Members of the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division concluded a four-week investigation concerning the sales of narcotics from a residence in the 400 block of West Oak Avenue, located in the City of Wildwood. At approximately 5 p.m. Oct. 5, members of the Cape May County SWAT Team executed a court authorized search warrant targeting the aforementioned residence, in connection to the illicit sales of narcotics from the multi-family residence.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, quantities of narcotics, specifically heroin and marijuana, were recovered during the search of the premises. The controlled dangerous substances seized in connection to the investigation were prepackaged for street level sales. Additionally seized in connection to the search of the premises was narcotics paraphernalia and hypodermic syringes along with money, which was identified as proceeds of the illicit street level sales and distribution of narcotics.

As a result of the investigation, three individuals were arrested in connection to the street level sales/distribution scheme. The following individuals were identified and charged with the appropriate criminal offenses concerning the illicit sales of narcotics. It should be noted that this investigation was a collaborative effort from the community, and several concerned citizen sources were critical in providing relevant and updated information leading to the arrest of the defendants and the seizure of narcotics, which were ultimately earmarked for those individuals addicted to the opiate based narcotics which are inundating and overwhelming our communities.

Justin Stewart, 27, currently residing in the City of Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes. Bail was authorized by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant of the Wildwood Municipal Court at $35,000 cash/bond no 10 percent all charges. Justin Stewart was unable to post bail and was incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

Mabel Stewart, 51, currently residing in the City of Wildwood, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes. Bail was authorized by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant at $35,000 cash/bond no 10 percent all charges. Ma ble Stewart was unable to post bail and was incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.

Jessica Balma, 20, residing in the City of Wildwood, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic syringes. Bail was authorized by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant at $20,000 cash/bond no 10 percent all charges. Balma was unable to post bail and was incarcerated at the Cape May County Correctional Center.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
