RIO GRANDE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Vincent Oglesby, 21, of Rio Grande for distribution of heroin and cocaine Dec. 3.
This arrest was the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the Middle Township Police Department.
Oglesby was arrested Dec. 3 at his residence at a motel on the 3100 block of Route 9 South in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township. After Oglesby was taken into custody, members of the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force, along with members of the Middle Township Police Department, executed a court authorized search warrant at Oglesby’s residence and an additional motel room utilized by Oglesby at the motel. Seized during this investigation were distribution amounts of both heroin and cocaine with an estimated street value of $5,000. This search warrant was a result of a one-month investigation regarding the distribution of heroin and cocaine from the property. Additionally charged in this investigation were Marissa Anderson, 22, and Christina Spaventa, 24, both of Rio Grande.
Oglesby was charged with third degree distribution of controlled dangerous substance (CDS) and third degree possession of CDS. Oglesby was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $80,000 cash bail.
Anderson was charged with third degree distribution of CDS and third degree possession of CDS. Anderson was also lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $80,000 cash bail. Both bails were set by Judge Dorothy Garrabrant, JMC.
Spaventa was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Spaventa was processed and released on a summons pending court proceedings.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances. The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
