ERMA- Over the past weekend, Lower Township police investigated five more incidents where copper piping was removed from the crawl spaces of homes.
Detective Art Mason reports that the majority of the homes being entered are summer residences. Police have investigated multiple incidents of copper piping being stolen from homes in the last several weeks.
The Lower Township Police Department is asking residents to report any suspicious vehicles, such as work vans or pick up trucks parked in their neighborhoods or any suspicious individuals who may be observed entering or exiting the crawl spaces of homes, in order for police to determine of they’re legitimate plumbers and/or repair men that are authorized to be on the property.
The most recent thefts of copper piping occurred on the following streets in Lower Township;
Cloverdale Avenue
Delaware Avenue
East Miami Avenue
Anyone with information regarding these thefts, may contact the Lower Township Police Department Safe Neighborhoods Tip Line at 886-1619 ext. 156 or Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 465-2800.
