RIO GRANDE – On Feb. 16, members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit, the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, and the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department’s K-9 Unit executed a search warrant in the first block Hawthorne Drive in Rio Grande.
As a result, Robert Brown, Jr., 33, Kathryn Hegarty, 34, Brandon Bader, 20, and a juvenile, all of that address, were arrested. Approximately $6,000, over one ounce of cocaine, and over three pounds of marijuana was seized.
Hegarty and Brown were charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine over half an ounce, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, and employing a juvenile in a drug distribution scheme. Both were incarcerated in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
Bader was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, and released on a summons.
The juvenile was charged with possession of marijuana over 50 grams and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute. He was released to the custody of a relative.
