UPDATE: The below charges were dismissed through a plea bargain, according to court documents provided by Spedding.
SWAINTON — Middle Township police began an investigation Sun. March 4 into the sexual assault of a minor. The investigation concluded Tue., March 27 and resulted in charges being brought against a local man for alleged sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
The teenaged victim was known to her alleged assailant.
Robert Spedding, 20, was arrested and charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Spedding is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail.
