Suspicious Vehicle Investigation Leads to Drug Arrest

VILLAS – While conducting surveillance operations in the Villas section of Lower Township March 23, detectives observed a suspicious vehicle parked near the bay. 
Upon contact with occupants of the vehicle, the passenger was identified as Kirsten Woods of Villas. 
During the investigation, Woods was found to be in possession of heroin, suboxone, hypodermic needles and other drug paraphernalia.  
An outstanding warrant was also located for Woods out of Lower Township.
Woods was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, a third degree offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles, both disorderly persons offenses. Judge Thomas Hillegass was contacted and set bail at $15,000 with 10 percent.  Woods was transported to the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail. 
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
