Suspicious Motor Vehicle Call Leads to Drug Arrests

VILLAS – Lower Township Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the area of Delaware Avenue and West Florida in Villas Thursday, May 28 at approximately 11:50 a.m. The reporting party believed that the two occupants had just consumed narcotics and reported that they were nodding out in their vehicle.
Upon police arrival, the vehicle and occupants were located. As police approached the vehicle, controlled dangerous substance (CDS) were observed by officers inside the vehicle.
The two subjects were arrested, Joseph T. Flanagan, 34, and George M. Flanagan, 31. Both reside in the 100 block of East Creek Mill Road, Eldora, N.J. They were both charged with possession of CDS, suspected heroin, a third degree crime.
Bail was set by Judge Thomas Hillegass for both subjects at $10,000 full cash. They were then lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in default of bail.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
