NORTH CAPE MAY – On Fri., July 9, at approximately 10:25 p.m., the Lower Township Police Department investigated a report of a burglary and theft in the 100 Block of Old Mill Drive here.
The homeowner there reported that someone had ransacked her bedroom and removed two laptop computers from the residence.
Approximately onehour later, police received a call that a mentally challenged male in the area of CJ’s Bar & Grill, may be in need of assistance.
Patrol Officer, Shaun Whittington located the subject and further investigation revealed that the subject, identified as Thomas D. Sloan, age 23, of the 800 Block of Cape Avenue in West Cape May, was in possession of one of the laptop computers reported stolen from the residence on Old Mill Drive.
Sloan was then arrested for Burglary and Theft and transported to Lower Township Police Department for processing.
There was also an outstanding warrant for Sloan out of Evesham Township, for contempt of court.
Sloan was charged on a summons for Burglary and Theft, with a court date and was then released to a relative.
