COURT HOUSE — A bomb threat on Wed., March 7 resulted in evening classes being canceled at the Cape May County Campus.
According to Middle Township Police Lt. Christopher Murphy, Ryan F. Ladd, 22, of Marmora was arrested in connection with the bomb threat. Ladd, an ACCC student, was charged with giving a False Public Alarm and released on a summons.
Police received a call of a possible bomb threat at 3:30 p.m.. Information was received through the college, which monitors social media sites. ACCC observed a tweet regarding a possible bomb threat.
Officers responded to the campus and located Ladd in a classroom. The suspect was taken into custody by police without incident.
As a precautionary measure, students on campus were evacuated. . Members of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office and Delaware River Bay Authority K-9 units were brought in to search the school. The campus was cleared at 6 p.m. after nothing was found.
The college’s website informed students, “Due to a police investigation underway in the building, Atlantic Cape’s Cape May County Campus is closed. Evening classes at that campus were canceled, Wed., March 7.
