Stone Harbor Police Report Incidents

STONE HARBOR — On Thurs., Aug. 5, David J. Shytle Jr., 55, of Richmond, Va., was charged with Creating a Hazardous Condition.
The arrest came after an investigation where it was reported that an employee of a local business was in possession of a handgun.
Based on the information learned during the investigation, the handgun was confiscated and Shytle was charged with Creating a Hzaraous Condition. Case is pending court.
On Friday, Aug. 6, John G. Hunter Jr., 60, of this community, was taken into custody for witness tampering.
The arrest came after Hunter approached the victim of a pending investigation and made threatening comments toward the victim and his family.
Hunter was released after posting bail set by Judge John Fowler. Case is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
On Sun., Aug. 8, at 1:43 a.m. while on routine patrol, Patrolman Workman observed a male and female involved in a physical confrontation at the corner of 81st Street and Second Avenue.
While approaching, Workman observed a male, later identified as Christopher Longo, of Egg Harbor Township, carrying a female away as the female yelled in protest.
Longo then attempted to place the female in a vehicle against her will as she attempted to fight back. Workman intervened and stopped Longo’s actions.
After investigation, Longo was placed under arrest for simple assault relating to a domestic violence incident. He was later released after posting bail set by Municipal Court Judge Fowler.
