By Jack Fichter

ERMA – Lower Township Police Department received a call from a subject walking his dog in the area of Wuerker’s Farm off Railroad Avenue in the Erma on Monday, Sept. 1 at approximately 11 a.m. indicating that he had located a burned out vehicle on the property in the back field.
Investigation on scene determined the vehicle to be a Cadillac DeVille. Officers were able to remove the vehicle identification number from the vehicle and run the VIN number through NCIC, which determined the vehicle had been reported stolen by the North Wildwood Police Department from their jurisdiction on Aug. 31.
The crime scene was secured by Lower Township Patrol Officers while members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County Fire Marshall’s Office and Detectives from Lower Township and North Wildwood investigated the incident.
