MARMORA — State Police are investigating the robbery of an 87-year-old woman in her Bayview Avenue home mid-morning on Fri., May 6.
According to police, a report was made to Woodbine Station at 10:13 a.m. from a Bayview Avenue residence of a robbery.
The victim told responding Trooper II R. Varnadore that an unknown white female had entered her home and demanded money. After being told she had none, the suspect ordered the victim to remain seated, then used her hand to keep her down. In addition, she was ordered not to use the telephone to call anyone.
The suspect allegedly told the victim she needed money to return to Philadelphia. At that time, she began to search through the victim’s belongings on the kitchen table.
Shortly thereafter, the suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and darted from the home through the rear door.
Once alone, the victim alerted State Police.
Troopers searched the area for the suspect, but without results. They reported it was unknown if the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle.
The suspect is described as being a young white female, about 5’ 6” in height with dark hair and thin build. Her clothing was described as a long-sleeve hot pink shirt with lettering on the front and dark colored pants.
