Somers Point Woman Sentenced for Theft from Middle Township Dealership

COURT HOUSE – Monica Schaffer, 53, of Somers Point, N.J., was sentenced for theft in excess of $400,000 from her employer, Avalon Honda, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced July 20. 

As a result of an investigation conducted by members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Financial Crimes Unit, Schaffer plead guilty to second degree theft May 29.

On July 17, 2015, Schaffer was sentenced by Judge John Porto, to a term of imprisonment of four years in the New Jersey State Prison, and was ordered to make restitution to the victim totaling over $422,000.

Prosecutor Taylor recognizes the efforts of the agencies involved which resulted in the successful conclusion of this investigation.
