OCEAN CITY– On June 4, at 6:56 p.m., the Ocean City Police responded to a burglary in progress at the Waterpark.
Information received was that a white male was observed running from the scene southbound. Ptl. Aman located the suspect in the rear of the stores in the 900 block of the Boardwalk. When the suspect observed the officer he ran away from the officer. Ptl. Aman was able to catch the suspect on the boardwalk near 10th Street.
As Ptl. Aman and Ptl. Fletcher attempted to secure the suspect he physically resisted the officers and fled southbound on the boardwalk. After a brief foot pursuit the officers were able to catch up to the suspect near 11th Street on the boardwalk. The suspect again physically resisted the officers forcing them to use OC(pepper) spray to apprehend the suspect.
Wigerman is charged with strong armed robbery, aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
Bail was set at $50,000.00 full cash.
