Shop Owner Admits Filing Bogus Tax Forms

OCEAN CITY – The owner of a restaurant on the Ocean City Boardwalk admitted to filing false income tax returns Oct. 23, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
John Gaeta, owner and operator of Big Slice Pizza, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in New Jersey to one count of filing false income tax returns.
Gaeta, of Cherry Hill, omitted about $683,551 in taxable income that he received from Big Slice Pizza for the tax years 2012 and 2013, and by doing so failed to pay $85,522 in additional federal income taxes to the United States, according to the report.
Gaeta accepted a plea agreement where he admitted to guilt on one count of filing false tax returns. His bail was set at $100,000. Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 2, the report continued.
