MAYS LANDING – Sgt. Jay H. Gaskill III, 37, of Middle Township, pleaded innocent on sexual assault charges in Atlantic County court May 8, The Press of Atlantic City reports.
According to a previous report, Gaskill’s case was transferred to Atlantic County due to Gaskill’s position in the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office.
Gaskill was arrested Dec. 12, 2016, and charged with sexual assault and sexual contact for an incident that allegedly occurred in 2015. He was indicted on those charges March 28.
A status conference is scheduled for June 8, the report continued.
