WASHINGTON DC — The Associated Press is reporting an 18-year-old illegal immigrant and registered sex offender was employed as an unpaid intern in the office of Sen. Robert Menendez. The Peruvian immigrant has now been arrested by immigration authorities.
According to the AP report, the Homeland Security Department had instructed federal agents not to arrest 18-year-old Luis Abrahan Sanchez Zavaletahim until after the Nov. 6 Election Day, a U.S. official involved in the case told the AP.
