COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland, in Jan. 13 release, announced the sentencing of Lauren M. Dorff, 32, of Villas, on first-degree drug-induced death charges.
Dorff was sentenced in Atlantic County Superior Court Jan. 9 to eight years in New Jersey State Prison for the drug-induced death of Eric Nolan, which occurred July 21, 2018.
Dorff is subject to the No Early Release Act.
A co-defendant in this investigation, Susan E. Mazzone, 44, of Court House, was previously sentenced to seven years in state prison for the first-degree charge of drug-induced death.
Mazzone is also subject to the No Early Release Act. Both Dorff and Mazzone were sentenced by Presiding Judge Bernard E. Delury Jr., of the Superior Court. Sutherland stated that his office, as well as all law enforcement agencies throughout Cape May County, will aggressively investigate and prosecute those who engage in the distribution of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), especially those individuals who distribute CDS which results in the death of another.
Sutherland would like to recognize the investigative efforts of the officers and detectives involved in this investigation along with Senior Assistant Prosecutor Edward Shim who prosecuted this case.
