By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – Over the course of the first few weeks of summer, the Sea Isle City Police Department (SICPD) has received numerous complaints about crowd conduct and behavior, beach curfew, bicycle violations, open containers and underage possession/consumption of alcoholic beverages on the promenade and beach area.
In an effort to address these quality if life issues, SICPD has implemented targeted enforcement on these issues, beginning over the Fourth of July weekend. As a direct result of this enforcement effort, the SICPD issued 27 summonses for quality of life ordinance offenses. Additionally, three juveniles and two adults were arrested for underage possession of alcohol and one juvenile and two adults were arrested for drug possession offenses. Three adults were arrested for robbery and weapon offenses. All of these arrests and summonses took place on either the beach or promenade area in the center of town between July 1 and July 3.
SICPD will continue to roll out additional measures in our efforts to address these quality of life issues. There will be an increased police presence on and around the promenade and beach areas over the remainder of the summer. There will be a zero tolerance on offenses. Officers will be actively monitoring the posted times for bikes, skateboards and roller blades on the promenade, possession and/or consumption of alcohol in public, people on the beach after hours and and general disorderly behavior.
Fighting crime isn’t a job SICPD can do alone, it takes all of us working together to make Sea Isle City a safe and enjoyable family-oriented community. We are fortunate to have involved residents, visitors and business owners who care deeply about their city and are willing to work with the police to make it even better. We are requesting the public’s assistance in reporting incidents that require any type of police attention. If it troubles you, tell us. Please contact SICPD at (609)-263-4311 ext. 0. Always call 911 for emergencies.
