Riot, Suicide, Warrant Arrests, Domestics Draw Lower Police Responses

ERMA — During the week of April 6-12, Lower Township police responded to and/or initiated 710 calls for service averaging over 101 calls per day.
April 6:
Report of disorderly conduct received at 12:19 a.m. in the 500 block of Old Stage Road, Erma; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument that escalated to a wrestling match, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 12:43 a.m. in the 3900 block of Bayshore Road, North Cape May; upon officer’s arrival there was a group of juveniles horsing around, they were gone upon arrival, no complaints at this time.
Report of a warrant arrest at 2:30 a.m. in the 900 block of West Rio Grande Avenue, Shawcrest. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Berlin Township; subject was processed and transported to county jail.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 3:04 a.m. in the 3300 block of Bayshore Road, Fishing Creek; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, no complaints at this time.
Report of criminal mischief received at 8:27 a.m. in the 100 block of Oregon Avenue, Villas, report of three jalousie panes in entry door were broken, investigation continues.
Report of criminal mischief received at 12:05 p.m. in the 100 block of Walnut Avenue, Villas, reporting party stated there were juveniles hanging out behind the shed area and leaving their trash behind also broke the reporting parties ladder, investigation continues.
Domestic violence complaint received at 2:14 p.m. in the 100 block of East Jacksonville Avenue, Villas. Domestic Violence Act rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order at the time.
Report of a suicide received at 7:12 p.m. in the 300 block of Cloverdale Avenue, Villas; upon police arrival they found a subject who was deceased, cause of death is listed as a suicide.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 7:24 p.m. in the 1500 block of Bayshore Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:20 p.m. in the 400 block of Railroad Avenue, Erma; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, no complaints at this time.
Report of a stolen motor vehicle received at 9:17 p.m. in the 400 block of Seashore Road, Erma, report of a motor vehicle stolen and recovered in Vineland, investigation continues.
April 7:
Domestic violence complaint received at 12:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Tomlin Avenue, Villas. Domestic Violence Act Rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order at the time.
Report of a person laying on the ground received at 3:38 p.m. in the area of Wayne Avenue and Rose Hill Parkway, North Cape May, subject passed out due to not taking her medication; a family member was notified and the family member took the subject home.
Report of an assault received at 3:54 p.m. in the 1700 block of Bayshore Road, Villas, two subjects were fighting, no complaints at this time.
Report of harassment received at 6:53 p.m. in the 700 block of Leaming Avenue, North Cape May, the reporting party is receiving harassing phone calls. No complaints at this time, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:11 p.m. in the 1800 block of Bayshore Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, actor was advised not to return, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:38 p.m. in the 1800 block of Bayshore Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, actor was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. The subject was processed and released on a summons and a date to appear in court.
Report of a suspicious person received at 11:52 p.m. in the first block of East New York Avenue, Villas, the subject was placed under arrest for obstruction, the subject was processed and given a court date, a family member was notified and the family member took the subject home.
April 8:
Report of criminal mischief received at 10:39 a.m. in the 300 block of Wayne Avenue, North Cape May, the victim reports that three tires on her motor vehicle were slashed, two last night and one a week ago, investigation continues.
Report of a narcotics arrest received at 11:56 a.m. in the 400 block of Breakwater Road, Erma, a subject was arrested for narcotics after going to Lower Township Court with it in his possession, the subject was processed and released on a summons with a court date.
Report of criminal mischief received at 2:48 p.m. in the 800 block of Tower View Road, Erma, the victim reports damage done to the residence, investigation continues.
Report of theft received at 5:39 p.m. in the 100 block of West Drumbed Road, Villas, victim says that someone stole her car caddy tow behind trailer, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 5:47 p.m. in the first block of Carolina Avenue, Villas; upon officer’s arrival the reporting party showed the officer where juveniles are hanging around in back of a residence, they were moved on, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 7:56 p.m. in the 1900 block of Bayshore Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival they were advised that a group of juveniles were throwing bottles in the parking lot, they were moved on, no complaints at this time.
Report of a warrant arrest at 7:57 p.m. in the 1300 block of Langley Road, Erma. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant; subject was processed and transported to county jail.
Domestic violence complaint received at 8:23 p.m. in the 3800 block of Bayshore Road, Villas. Victim stated she was receiving harassing phone calls from her boyfriend, Domestic Violence Act rights were given, no criminal complaints signed and no request for a temporary restraining order at the time.
Report of criminal mischief received at 11:59 p.m. in the first block of West Drumbed Road, Villas. Victim reported a vehicle drove by her house and threw something out the window hitting her husband’s truck causing damage to his truck, investigation continues.
April 9:
Report of a motor vehicle accident received at 1:43 a.m. in the 2900 block of Bayshore Road, Villas, during the investigation the driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, the subject was released to a family member with a court date.
Report of a warrant arrest at 8:14 a.m. in the 100 block of Sheridan Drive, Erma. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, subject was also charged with obstruction, the subject was processed and transported to the county jail.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 11:35 a.m. in the first block of Maryland Avenue, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, one subject retrieved belongings and left the area, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 3:30 p.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Washington Avenue, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a fight, subjects were separated and sent on there way as they did not wish to sign complaints.
Report of a burglary received at 8:09 p.m. in the 200 block of West Hudson Avenue, Villas; entry was made through a rear window of the residence, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 6:14 p.m. in the 600 block of Town Bank Road, North Cape May; upon officer’s arrival there was an argument between family members, problem was handled between the family, no complaints were filed.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:11 p.m. in the 1300 block of Bayshore Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there was an argument between family members, problem was handled between the family, no complaints were filed.
Report of a possible riot received at 9:13 p.m. in the area of Vermont Avenue and Congress Avenue, Villas; reporting party advised the police that a large crowd was fighting and they had weapons being knives and bats, upon officers arrival mutual aid was requested by the sergeant on scene, most of the subjects fled the area and the rest were sent on there way, no complaints at this time.
Report of trespassing received at 9:50 p.m. in the 2000 block of Bayshore Road, Villas, report of juveniles trespassing on the property, upon police arrival they were gone.
April 10:
Domestic violence complaint received at 4:48 a.m. in the 100 block of Shadeland Avenue, Villas. Report of loud noise and yelling coming from the residence, charges for criminal mischief were signed by the responding officer, the subject was arrested and processed, the subject was released on a summons with a court date. No request for a temporary restraining order at the time.
Report of criminal mischief received at 8:50 a.m. in the 1800 block of Bayshore Road, Villas, damage done to screen on the back of the building, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 9:30 a.m. in the first block of West New Jersey Avenue, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two subjects that got into a verbal argument, no complaints at this time.
Report of an assault received at 11:48 a.m. in the 900 block of Ocean Drive, Erma, two subjects were fighting, and charges were filed for assault by the victim, the actor was given a copy of the complaint with a court date.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 1:13 p.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Washington Boulevard, North Cape May; the report was a possible intoxicated female walking in and out of traffic; upon officer’s arrival they found a female who was intoxicated and she was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center to be checked out, no complaints at this time.
Report of theft received at 1:40 p.m. in the 700 block of Route 109, Cape May, report of soda machines broken into and money removed, investigation continues.
Report of a warrant arrest at 5:33 p.m. in the 200 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Villas; Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant out of Wildwood; subject was processed and transported to county jail.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 10:33 p.m. in the 100 block of Village Road, Villas; upon officer’s arrival there were two family members that got into a verbal argument, no complaints at this time.
April 11:
Report of a burglary received at 8:10 a.m. in the first block of Beachhurst Drive, North Cape May; entry was made through a window of the residence and several items were stolen, investigation continues.
Report of theft received at 10:19 a.m. in the 300 block of West Pacific Avenue, Villas, report of two large flowerpots stolen from the front of his residence, investigation continues.
Report of harassment received at 11:09 a.m. in the 1700 block of Star Avenue, Villas, his neighbor was verbally harassing the reporting party, and police spoke to both subjects. No complaints at this time.
An arrest was made at 11:55 a.m. in Vineland; subject was arrested for burglary of a motor vehicle in the Tranquility section of Lower Township which took place on Dec. 5, 2007, it was also discovered the subject was responsible for 22 other car burglaries the same night, he was charged and released to a family member with a court date.
Report of theft received at 1:24 p.m. in the 100 block of West New York Avenue in the Villas, report of lawn mower stolen from his front yard, investigation continues.
Report of criminal mischief received at 3:19 p.m. in the 100 block of Tomlin Avenue, Villas, damage done to mail box and the post, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 4:45 p.m. in the 100 block of Old Mill Drive, North Cape May; reporting party stated there were juveniles destroying things on his front lawn, upon officers arrival the juveniles were spoken to and were moved on, no complaints at this time.
Domestic violence complaint received at 4:50 p.m. in the 100 block of West Drumbed Road, Villas; Report that his girlfriend is beating him up, charges for assault was signed by the responding officer, the subject was arrested and processed, the subject was released on a summons with a court date. No request for a temporary restraining order at the time.
Report of harassment received at 5:21 p.m. in the 2700 block of Bayshore Road, Villas, reports she is being harassed by a subject in Vermont. No complaints at this time.
Report of an assault received at 5:27 p.m. in the 600 block of Route 9, Erma, two subjects were fighting, both given a warning, no complaints at this time.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 8:15 p.m. in the 500 block of Atlantic Avenue, North Cape May; reporting party stated there were juveniles being disorderly, upon officers arrival the juveniles were moved on, no complaints at this time.
April 12:
Report of disorderly conduct received at 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Rose Anne Avenue, North Cape May; reporting party stated there is a large party being loud and disorderly, officers advised the home owner of the complaint and she will keep it down, no complaints at this time.
During a motor vehicle stop at 1:04 a.m. in the 200 block of Linda Anne Avenue, North Cape May. Subject was charged with possession of alcohol while being under the legal age to do so; subject was released with a court date.
Report of a warrant arrest at 2:58 a.m. in the area of Fishing Creek Road and Lennox Avenue in Fishing Creek. Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant after a motor vehicle stop; subject was processed and released after posting bail.
Report of a drunk driver at 3:41 a.m. in the area of Bayshore Road and Rosehill Parkway, North Cape May, subject arrested and charges were filed.
Domestic violence complaint received at 8:23 a.m. in the 2700 block of Bayshore Road, Villas. Rights were given and the judge issued temporary restraining order, the actor was served, but no criminal complaints signed at this time.
Report of theft received at 9:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Broadway Avenue, Villas, subject reports money and his dog stolen from his residence, investigation continues.
Report of theft received at 11:28 a.m. in the 900 block of Ocean Drive, Cape May, a boat shaft was stolen, all salvage yards contacted with negative results, investigation continues.
Report of theft received at 11:33 a.m. in the 100 block of Oregon Avenue, Villas, items were stolen from her motor vehicle sometime during the night, investigation continues.
Report of a warrant arrest at 12:18 p.m. in the 1300 block of Langley Road, Erma, Subject was placed under arrest for a warrant; subject was processed and released after posting bail.
Report of criminal mischief received at 12:54 p.m. in the 900 block of Ocean Drive, Cape May, the victim had damage done to his boat, investigation continues.
Report of disorderly conduct received at 3:02 p.m. in the 100 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, Villas, the neighbor was verbally harassing the reporting party, and police spoke to both subjects. No complaints at this time.
Report of harassment received at 3:22 p.m. in the 200 block of Willow Drive, North Cape May, the reporting party is receiving harassing phone calls, police spoke with the actor, no complaints were signed at this time.
Report of theft received at 4:54 p.m. in the 100 block of West Jacksonville Avenue, Villas, items were stolen from his motor vehicle sometime during the night, investigation continues.
Report of trespassing received at 6:23 p.m. in the first block of Shawmount Avenue, Villas, upon police arrival they were advised dirt bikes were racing on the property; two written warnings were issued.
