RIO GRANDE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Middle Township Police Chief Christopher Leusner announce the arrest of Shannon Ginyard, of Rio Grande for distribution of a heroin Oct. 14.
This arrest was the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the Middle Township Police Department.
Ginyard was arrested Oct. 14 leaving her residence at a motel in the 1400 block of NJ-47 in Rio Grande. After Ginyard was taken into custody, members of the Gangs, Guns and Narcotics task force, along with members of the Middle Township Police Department, executed a court authorized search warrant at Ginyard’s residence. A vehicle was also searched. Seized during this investigation was distribution amounts of heroin with an estimated street value of $4,000. Also, approximately $1,800 in cash was seized and will be submitted for forfeiture as being proceeds to the distribution of narcotics. This search warrant was a result of a one-month investigation regarding the distribution of heroin from the property. This investigation is currently still ongoing with additional suspects to be charged.
Ginyard was charged with distribution of CDS, possession of CDS, and possession of hypodermic syringe. Ginyard was processed and released on a summons pending court proceedings.
Prosecutor Taylor advises that persons convicted of a third degree crime are subject to a term of imprisonment of 3 to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison. Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances. The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
