Reward Offered in Car Fire

VILLAS – Lower Township Police Department is looking for the public’s assistance regarding a car fire that was intentionally set by someone throwing a Molotov-cocktail-type device into an unoccupied vehicle.
According to a release, the fire occurred at approximately 1 a.m., Nov. 2, 2017, in the first block East Delaware Parkway. The car was registered to a resident of the Villas neighborhood and the vehicle was a total loss.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, along with the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department Crime Stoppers program are assisting the Lower Township Police Department with the investigation by announcing that a reward of $3,250 is being offered for information leading to the apprehension and successful prosecution of the person, or persons, responsible for the fire.
Anyone with information is asked to call Lower Township Police Department on their Tip Line at (609) 886-1619 ext. 156, or contact the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives directly at 1-888-ATF-FIRE. Callers will need to provide their name and phone number, for if/when the reward is paid.
