Resident Reports Stranger Sleeping on Their Couch, Police Make Arrest

STONE HARBOR – Stone Harbor Police Officers responded to a 911 call on the 100 Block of 102nd Street Friday, May 22 at 1:59 a.m after the reporting party returned home to find an unknown male sleeping on their couch.
Upon arrival, police learned that the unknown male subject had already left the home. The subject, now identified as Anthony L. George, 23, of Allentown, Pa., was located by Sgt. Michael Workman and Special Law Enforcement Officer II Ryan Willams on the 9800 Block of First Avenue, where he was positively identified and subsequently placed under arrest without incident.
George was transported to the Stone Harbor Police Department where he was processed and charged with criminal trespass, a fourth degree crime. He was later released to a family member. The Stone Harbor Police Department requests that residents continue to report suspicious activity and to keep their doors locked.
This matter is pending review by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
