COURT HOUSE — County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Ocean City Police Chief Chad Callahan are seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining information on the suspicious disappearance of Ocean City resident John Weisbecker.
On March 11, 2009, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Weisbecker was last seen by his mother at their residence in Ocean City.
On the third anniversary of Weisbecker’s disappearance, the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Ocean City Police Department are appealing to the public for information that might lead to the explanation of what happened to Weisbecker.
At the time of his disappearance, Weisbecker was described as being a 21 year old white male, standing approximately 6 feet 1 inch, weighing approximately 220 pounds, having blue eyes, long brown hair and a mustache.
Weisbecker was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a black T-shirt with “SEEDLESS” on the front and brown ES sneakers.
The county Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Ocean City Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigations continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Weisbecker’s disappearance.
Numerous leads, spanning throughout the country, have been thoroughly investigated. The circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Weisbecker have been added to the National Missing and Unidentified System (NAMUS) as well as the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (VICAP) as a missing person.
The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for “information that leads to the recovery of Weisbecker.”
