VILLAS – Lower Township police officers responded to the 300 block of West Florida Ave. in the Villas section of Lower Township for a report of a suspicious male subject Aug. 5 at approximately 5:35 p.m.
The male subject was reportedly screaming and yelling. He was also reported to be drinking what appeared to be alcoholic beverages he was retrieving from a backpack in his possession.
Patrolman Jennifer Anzelone, Special Officer Andrew Fisher and Special Officer Adam Hegarty arrived on scene and made contact with the subject as he was walking on the 300 block of West Florida Ave. The subject was identified as a 17-year-old male juvenile. As they were speaking to the subject, they observed a collapsible baton sticking out of his backpack. The officers seized the baton from his possession. Further investigation found the juvenile in possession of marijuana, less than 50 grams, and various CDS paraphernalia.
The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Lower Township Police Department to be processed. He was charged on juvenile complaints, processed and released to his guardian.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
