Report of Alleged Beating Brings Many Charges

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest police were called to a motel on the 500 block East Buttercup Road Sept. 4 at 1:08 a.m. on a report of a woman being beaten by a man.
Officers arrived to a motel room and found the alleged suspect, Corey Early, 42, of Wilkes Barre, Pa., assaulting a female. Officers intervened and arrested Early. The female was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where she was treated and released for her injuries.
Early was charged with aggravated assault, criminal restraint, harassment, and unlawful possession of a weapon. Early was found in possession of a box cutter during the arrest. Early was committed to the Cape May County Correctional Center with bail set at $100,000. The crime scene was processed by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Scene Unit. 
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
