Repair Shop Bookkeeper Faces Theft Charge

VILLAS — Lower Township police received information on Nov. 5 about a possible theft from a local repair station.
The owner of Offshore Getty reported that one of his employees, who handled his finances, had allegedly taken a large amount of cash through various checks that had been written over a year.
When detectives followed up, they found various discrepancies in accounts, according to a release. The information that they learned was that Jeanne Gaynor, 50, of the 200 block Pinetree Avenue, Villas was allegedly responsible for the missing funds.
Detectives located Gaynor on Nov. 6 and took her into custody without incident.
Gaynor was transported to Lower Township Police headquarters for processing. She was charged with theft over $75,000, a crime of the second degree.
Municipal Court Judge Richard Russell set bail at $ 50,000. Gaynor was remanded to county jail in lieu of bail.
