COURT HOUSE – Kendall Aguirre, 32, of Wildwood, was arrested for distribution of heroin Sept. 18, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor and Wildwood Police Chief Robert Regalbuto announced Sept. 21 in a release.
Aguirre was arrested outside of a residence on Arctic Avenue in Wildwood. After Aguirre was in custody, the Cape May County Regional SWAT team executed a court authorized search warrant at Aguirre’s residence located in the 100 block of West Poplar Avenue. In addition to the residence, two vehicles were also searched.
As a result of this investigation, 65 bags of heroin with an estimated street value of $1,300 were seized along with approximately $6,000 in cash which will be submitted for forfeiture as being proceeds from the distribution of narcotics. This search warrant was a result of a two-month-long investigation regarding the distribution of heroin from the property. This investigation is still ongoing and additional suspects may be charged.
The search warrant and arrest were the conclusion of a cooperative investigation between the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force and the Wildwood Police Department Detective Division. Chief Regalbuto commented that the Wildwood Police Department had received numerous complaints about the residence for CDS-related activity and commends the joint effort of the detectives involved in this investigation.
Aguirre was charged with distribution of CDS and possession of CDS. Bail was set for Aguirre at $70,000, full, cash by Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant. Aguirre was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of bail.
Prosecutor Taylor stated that his office will continue to work hand in hand with the local municipalities to target anyone selling illegal controlled dangerous substances. The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
