Porto Assigned to Cape May County Family Court

TRENTON — On Jan. 11, Chief Justice Stuart Rabner, of the New Jersey Supreme Court, ordered that Superior Court Judge John Porto is hereby assigned to Cape May County Superior Court Family Division effective upon the taking of his oath of office.
Porto, legal counsel for this county until recently, was nominated by Gov. Jon S. Corzine to a Superior Court judgeship.
Porto was appointed county counsel in June 2003. Prior to that, he was an assistant in the office since 1997. He received his law degree from the University of Akron in 1992 and an undergraduate degree in history from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in 1986. He is a 1981 graduate of Wildwood High School.
Like Porto, former county counsel Kyran Connor was appointed to the Superior Court in June 2000. Connor and John Rauh currently serve as a family court judges in this county.
