Police Serve Warrant, Make Drug Arrest

NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police Officer J.W. Garriott stopped Donte Alston who was riding a bicycle in the area of 22nd and New Jersey Avenues to serve a warrant that was out for his arrest from North Wildwood Dec. 7, at approximately 10:08 a.m.
Alston, 34, residing in North Wildwood, was arrested on the warrant. Further investigation revealed that Alston was in possession of an amount of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Alston was charged with the drug possession offenses and was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center on a warrant with Judge Louis J. Belasco, Jr. setting bail at $10,000.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
