COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor, Middle Township Police Chief Chris Leusner, Lower Township Police Chief William Mastriana, North Wildwood Police Chief Matt Gallagher and members of the New Jersey State Police Troop A Criminal Investigation Office, announce the arrest of Charles Caruso, 42, and Darren Rogers, 43, of Middle Township in reference to the unauthorized possession of Department of Defense property and numerous burglaries throughout Cape May County.
The aforementioned law enforcement agencies conducted a four month long investigation into a string of burglaries, being committed throughout the county. The investigation was brought to a successful conclusion on March 18, with the execution of two search warrants in Middle Township.
As a result of these search warrants, six flat panel televisions, numerous DVD players and laptop computers were seized as well as a suspected grenade and multiple military identification cards.
Caruso was charged with several counts of burglary and theft, possession of stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, trafficking in personal identification, possession of stolen government documents, possession of heroin, possession of cocaine, possession of CDS paraphernalia and unlawful possession of ammunition. Caruso was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $150,000 full cash bail.
Rogers was charged with several counts of burglary and theft and lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $50,000 full cash bail.
Joanna Jordan, 28, of Middle Township was charged with receiving stolen property and released on a summons complaint.
As this is an ongoing investigation throughout Cape May County, additional burglary and theft charges are pending against Caruso and Rogers.

The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
