Police Seek Man Suspected of Robbing a Rio Grande Store

RIO GRANDE – Members of the Middle Township Police Department’s Patrol Division responded to the Starbucks Coffee Company located in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township for a reported robbery Sunday, May 31 at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Upon arrival, patrol units learned the suspect left the store with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect reportedly entered the store as the employees were getting ready to close for the evening and demanded money from the cash register. An amount of money was turned over to the suspect who left the store without incident. The employees reported they never saw a gun and there was never any mention of a gun, but it appeared the suspect may have had a gun under his sweatshirt. The suspect is described as a thin, white male, approximately 5’7” tall and 145 pounds with a very light beard. The suspect was wearing a red or pinkish-colored, hooded sweatshirt, dark colored pants, dark shoes, a dark-colored knit hat and dark sunglasses.
