COURT HOUSE– On Oct. 15, Kristina Cochran, 19, of Wildwood came into police headquarters to turn herself in after seeing her photograph in the Cape May County Herald, police said in a press release.
Detective Osmundsen of the department’s Major Crimes Unit interviewed Cochran, who admitted finding a wallet in the Shoprite Plaza parking lot, which did not belong to her.
She and her friend, identified as Jacqueline Pitts, 20, of Wildwood decided to use the victim’s credit cards at local area stores in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township totaling over $2500 in purchases.
Both Cochran and Pitts were charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, theft and conspiracy. They were both released on their own recognizance.
This investigation was conducted by Patrolman Josh Bryan of the department’s Delta Squad.
