Police Recover Stolen Car Following Hit, Run, Arrest Two

NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Police responded to the area of 6th and New Jersey avenues for a report of a motor vehicle accident at 7:04 a.m. May 28. Multiple 911 callers reported that a vehicle struck a building and another vehicle at that location and left the scene.  
Officer Thomas Flounders Jr. located the vehicle in a marina at 5th and New York avenues shortly after. A female passenger, Taylor Rodgers, was found with the vehicle in the marina. Sgt. Brian Harkins located the driver, Vincent Rodia, hiding in one of the boats at the marina. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen out of Philadelphia, Pa. 
Rodia, 18, residing in Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, possession of controlled dangerous substance (CDS), heroin, defiant trespassing and disorderly conduct. He was also charged with DWI, driving while suspended, possession of CDS in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, failure to stop or yield and careless driving. Rodia was lodged on a warrant in the Cape May County Correctional Center on bail set by Judge Louis J. Belasco, Jr. 
Rodgers, 18, also residing in Philadelphia, was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property, unlawful possession of a weapon, stun gun, obstruction, possession of CDS, heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Rodgers was released on a summons pending court.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
