Police Make Arrest for Motor Vehicle Theft

COLD SPRING – Lower Township Police responded to Seashore Road in the Cold Spring section of the township in investigate the report of a stolen motor vehicle Aug. 14 at 7:35 p.m.
Upon arrival, Officers learned that a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was taken from the property by an unknown subject and was last seen traveling north on Seashore Road. At approximately 12 a.m. that evening, Lower Township Special Officer James Collins observed the vehicle traveling on Pacific Avenue in the Diamond Beach section of the township and immediately attempted a motor vehicle stop. The stolen vehicle pulled to the side of the road where the driver, Dominic Bradford, 23, of Newark NJ, exited and began walking away. Officer Collins was able to detain Bradford and after further investigation, he was placed under arrest and charged with theft of a motor vehicle.
In default of $20,000 cash, bail set by Judge Thomas Hillegass, Bradford was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility.
The investigation into this matter was conducted by Patrolman Charles Ryan and Special Officer James Collins.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
