Police Look for Alleged Racial, Anti-Semitic Vandal

RIO GRANDE — Middle Township Police are looking for a Philadelphia man accused of vandalizing a local hotel.
On July 13 at approximately 11:20 a.m., police responded to the Simpsons Motel for the report of damage to one of their units.
Housekeeping discovered that furniture had been broken, graffiti was written/burned on walls and ceiling, a sink was left overflowing and the underside of a sofa bed had been set on fire. Several of the written comments were racial and anti-semetic in nature.
Investigation led to charges being drawn up against Matthew A. Sipko, 21, of Philadelphia.
On July 23, a warrant was issued against Sipko charging him with second-degree bias intimidation, third-degree arson and third-degree criminal mischief. Judge Birchmeier set bail at $30,000 full cash.
Middle Township police said the arrest of Sipko is pending.
