Police Investigate Vandalism in North Cape May

LOWER TOWNSHIP POLICE RELEASE AUG. 5:
NORTH CAPE MAY — Over the course of the last several days, the Lower Township Police Department has
investigated several cases of Graffiti Tagging/Criminal Mischief incidents throughout the North Cape May Section of Lower Township.
Spray paint graffiti was left on the fence behind the North Cape May WaWa and several street signs throughout North Cape May.
Harpoon Henry’s Restaurant located on the bay in the Townbank Section of Lower Township was targeted two (2) nights in a row with spray paint graffiti symbols and writings.
It is believed the spray painting graffiti incidents took place after 11 pm at night.
The Lower Township Police Department also received numerous complaints on Wednesday morning, August, 5th of cars being keyed and damaged in the north end of the Villas on Miami, Jacksonville and Coral Avenues.
It is believed that the keying incidents also took place after 11 pm at night.
Police are increasing patrols in these areas and are also asking citizens with information to contact the Lower Township Police Department’s Safe Neighborhood Tip Line at 886-1619 ext. 156 or the Cape May County Crime Stoppers at 465-2800, with information related to these incidents. Information will remain confidential and may be reported anonymously.
