Police Find 500 Bags of Heroin in Home, Arrest 3

This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
WILDWOOD – Wildwood Police Department Street Crimes Unit concluded a month-long investigation concerning the distribution of narcotics from a residence within the City of Wildwood Oct. 26.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., the Cape May County Regional SWAT Team, along with the Wildwood Police Department K-9 Unit, executed a court authorized search warrant on the 4400 block Pacific Avenue in connection to this investigation. As a result, over 500 bags of suspected heroin packaged for street level distribution were recovered. These narcotics have a street value in excess of $5,000.
In addition, $2,500 which was deemed to be proceeds from the illicit sale of narcotics was seized. This money was submitted for forfeiture.
Arrested as a result of this investigation was Luis Ramirez, 25, of Wildwood. Ramirez was charged with possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substance) – heroin, possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute in a school zone, and possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute in a certain public place. Ramirez was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Also arrested was Virginia Long, 29, of Wildwood, and William Hedge, 22, also of Wildwood.
Long was charged with possession of CDS – heroin, possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute in a school zone, and possession of CDS – heroin with the intent to distribute in a certain public place. Long was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
Hedge was charged with possession of a hypodermic syringe and was released with a summons complaint.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
