Police: Ex-Hotel Worker Allegedly Forged Checks

CAPE MAY – Chief Anthony Marino of the Cape May Police Department reported the arrest of Kristine R. Costello, 48, of Egg Harbor Township Sept. 20 stemming from a theft complaint at a hotel in the 1000 block Beach Avenue in Cape May. 
Costello was employed as the controller for the hotel. Costello was charged with three counts of forgery and three counts of theft. It is alleged that Costello stole checks totaling $1,944.18 and forged them. Costello later cashed or deposited the checks for her own use. 
Costello was released on two summonses to appear in Cape May County Superior Court on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations, and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty. This report is based on information received from law enforcement.
