DEL HAVEN– A 17 year-old male was assaulted in Del Haven Friday, Oct 1, and suffered serious injuries.
Middle Township Police responded to the area of Bayshore Road and Lehigh Ave in the Del Haven section of the township at around 11:30 p.m., where the teen was reported to be unconscious.
The assault was originally believed to have occurred in the Villas section of Lower Township due to witness statements however police say they now believe the assault occurred in Del Haven.
Police said the teen suffered a broken vertebrae in the attack that included other teens and adults.
The teenager was airlifted to the trauma unit at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City for treatment .
The circumstances surrounding the assault are still under investigation.
The police department is asking the publics help if they have any information on who was involved in the attack or what precipitated it.
