Police Charge West Cape May Man with Identity Theft

WEST CAPE MAY – Delfino Antonio Banos-Martinez, 42, of West Cape May was arrested by the Cape May Police Department July 24 at 5:29 p.m. on charges related to identity theft.
Patrolman Ken Cooper’s investigation resulted in criminal charges against Banos- Martinez for using personal identifying information of another and impersonating or assuming a false identity for the purpose of obtaining a benefit for himself.
Banos-Martinez is being held in the Cape May County Correctional Center on $50,000 bail on charges of impersonation; theft of identity, a fourth degree offense and use of personal identifying information of another, a second degree offense.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
