By Press Release

WILDWOOD CREST – Wildwood Crest Police were called to the area of Lake Rd. on a report of a burglary in progress, with two males attempting to break in to a residence Aug. 14 at 10:57 a.m.
Officer James Mulholland responded and found a vehicle leaving the area with two males matching the description given by police dispatch. The vehicle, being operated by Raymond Baylock, attempted to elude officers by failing to stop. The vehicle was stopped in the area short time later, where the passenger fled on foot. Baylock was arrested without incident. The investigation led to a positive identification of Brett Delaney as the passenger who fled from the car during the motor vehicle stop. Detective Mark Tomlin assisted in the investigation and learned that Delaney may be involved with other burglaries in the area. A search of the vehicle found various items that did not belong to the owner of the vehicle.
Baylock was charged with criminal attempt (burglary), eluding police, possession of a hypodermic needle, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.
Warrants were issued for Delaney for criminal attempt (burglary) and obstruction. He remains at large. Additional charges are pending.
Wildwood Crest Police are asking for anyone who may have been a victim of a recent theft from their property, to contact the Detective Division at 609-522- 2456.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
