Police Charge Two Suspected of Car Burglaries; Seek Owners of Stolen Property

GREEN CREEK – Middle Township Police Department made two arrests in connection to a series of car burglaries in Middle Township Aug. 27.
Detectives arrested Carrianne Walsh and Jeffery Heaton at a hotel in Green Creek. Stolen property was recovered from Walsh’s room. Walsh was charged with fencing and was released on a summons. Heaton was charged with three counts of burglary and theft. He was placed in Cape May County Correctional Center in lieu of $60,000 bail.
Eric Reighn was also arrested at the scene for a bench warrant. The warrant was for a previous incident in Middle Township for hindering.
The investigation is ongoing and more charges and arrests are anticipated.
Pictured is the stolen property that was recovered. The property is from reported and unreported burglaries in Middle Township and surrounding towns. If you have been a victim of a theft and believe that your property is pictured, you can contact the detective division to make an appointment to come into the station to identify your property.
Since July 1, 2014 there have been 39 reported car burglaries in Middle Township. There may be many more unreported burglaries. If you have not reported a theft and believe that we have your property, you can still come in to make a report and claim your property.
Anyone with information on criminal activity is asked to call the Middle Township Police Department at 465-8700, or make an anonymous call to Cape May County Crime stoppers at 465-2800.
The charges and allegations contained in the complaint are merely accusations and the defendant is considered innocent unless and until proven guilty.
